The Practice

As one of Melbourne's largest clinics dedicated to the treatment of upper limb conditions, Melbourne Hand Therapy is a progressive practice known for delivering excellent patient outcomes in a very supportive and close-knit team environment. Our therapists work closely with a team of Hand and Upper Limb Surgeons, Specialists and GP's. Our team comprises of a number of employees who have worked for MHT for 10-25 years, having developed a reputation for clinical expertise in specialty areas such as shoulders, complex wrists, wounds, post-operative care and also diagnosing and managing conservatively treated conditions. 

The role

This position provides a Physiotherapist with the opportunity to join a busy practice of highly skilled, supportive therapists and efficient administration staff. The blend of responsibilities includes:

  • Treatment of Upper Limb conditions (including shoulder rehabilitation) plus a variety of trauma, soft tissue conditions, degenerative conditions, sporting injuries and pre and post operative surgical conditions. 
  • Work directly with Surgeons as part of a multi-disciplinary team of experienced physiotherapists and OT’s.

About you

This position is perfect for a Physiotherapist wanting to further their skills and specialise in the area of upper limb rehabilitation. Mentorship and training is provided by Senior Hand Therapists and Upper Limb Surgeons. The successful candidate will have:

  • Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy degree
  • Ability to apply for AHPRA membership
  • Minimum 1-year post-graduate hand therapy experience is desirable, although an enthusiastic new graduate with the right attitude would be considered
  • Professional indemnity insurance
  • A passion for ongoing professional development 
  • Exceptional eye for detail, organisational and time keeping skills
  • Excellent communication skills and high standards of responsive patient care
